How BizPal handles your FEIC 2026 data

This page is being finalised and is subject to review by the FEIC 2026 organiser. It may be updated before the competition launches; material changes will be announced on this website.

Last updated: 30 October 2026

FEIC 2026 (the Financial Empowerment Innovation Challenge) is organised by BizPal. This policy explains what we collect when you visit this website or register, why, and the choices you have. Please read it together with the Terms and Conditions.

1. Information collected during registration

  • Personal details: full name, date of birth, email address and phone number (with country code).
  • Academic details: institution name, nationality, programme of study, year of study, study mode, and how you heard about FEIC 2026.
  • Your answers to the registration declarations (accurate information, current enrolment, these terms, and the in-person Top 10 Final Pitch).
  • Later, in the Participant Portal: your team, problem statement, submissions and enquiries.

2. Account and email-verification data

  • Email and password: your email address is your login ID. Your password is stored only as a secure one-way hash — nobody, including BizPal, can read it.
  • Continue with Google: we receive your Google account ID, name and verified email address. We never see or store your Google password.
  • Email verification: we email you a single-use link that expires after 48 hours. We store only an encrypted fingerprint of the link, the time it was sent and used, and when your email was verified. Your registration is confirmed only after verification (Google sign-ups are verified by Google).
  • Security records such as sign-in times and administrative changes to your account.

3. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Essential cookies keep you signed in, protect forms and remember your cookie choice. Analytics and advertising tools are used only if you agree in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time: . Your registration works exactly the same whatever you choose.

  • Google Analytics 4 (analytics). Pages viewed, how you arrived (for example a Facebook or Instagram campaign link), clicks on Register buttons, starting and submitting the registration form, and — once your email is verified — one “sign up” event sent from our server. Cookies: _ga, _ga_*. We never send your name, email, phone number or registration answers to Google.
  • Meta Pixel and Meta Conversions API (advertising). Measures how many visits and confirmed registrations come from our Facebook and Instagram ads. Cookies: _fbp, _fbc. When your registration is confirmed, our server informs Meta once, sending your email address, phone number and a participant reference only in hashed (one-way encrypted) form, together with your IP address, browser type and the ad-click identifier, so Meta can match it to an ad you saw. Meta does not receive your other details.
  • Campaign attribution. To understand which campaigns bring students to FEIC 2026, we record the campaign link details (UTM parameters), the page you first arrived on, the referring website and the dates of your visits, and store them with your registration. With your consent we also keep the Google Analytics and Meta identifiers above, and remember this information in your browser so it survives closing the site.

These tools may be loaded through Google Tag Manager, which only loads them according to your choice. If you decline, no analytics or advertising cookies are set and nothing about your visit or registration is sent to Google or Meta.

Separately, our own website counts, per day and per campaign, how many visits arrive through a campaign link and how many registration forms are started. These counts are anonymous — no cookies, IP addresses or identifiers are stored — and are used only to measure our campaigns.

4. Why we use your information

  • To run FEIC 2026: verifying eligibility, managing registrations, accounts and teams, judging, and the final pitch.
  • To contact you about your registration and the competition, including the verification email.
  • To keep the website and accounts secure.
  • With your consent, to measure our website and advertising (section 3).
  • To produce anonymised statistics about participation.

5. Who we share it with

Your details are shared only with people involved in running FEIC 2026 — BizPal, co-organisers, partner institutions and judges — and only as needed for the competition, and with service providers that host the website and send our emails. Google and Meta receive only what section 3 describes, and only with your consent. We do not sell your data.

6. Storage and retention

Your registration data is stored in the FEIC 2026 database on our hosting provider's servers, protected by access controls; only authorised organisers can view it. We keep it for as long as needed to run the competition, announce results and meet our legal and accounting obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Unused verification links expire after 48 hours. Cookie choices are remembered for 6 months. Google and Meta keep data according to their own retention settings and policies.

7. Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted, and you can withdraw consent to analytics or advertising at any time through Cookie settings. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect your registration. If you delete your registration, you can no longer take part in FEIC 2026.
